The wood trim burns quickly in the sun and sea. We have used PolyStrippa heavy duty to remove old varnish. We laid heavy masking tape first. a light brushing for stubborn stuff and a light sanding after. It dried in a few minutes and we varnished with Cetol only. (Epifanes only lasted one year. )
Next day, David gave it a light 400 grit sanding and applied another coat.
